The Bullet Train, Shinkansen!

Shinkansen is another new generation of Japanese high speed train. It is a bullet train giving excellent services! It boast a high security and reliability. Shinkansen was put into commercial operation being operated by East Japan Railway Company. The company fulfills managerial requirements to give the highest priority to safe and reliable transportation services.

By the year 2009, the exterior and interior design of the train was released. The bullet train features a long nose which extends 15m to the front. It prevents ‘tunnel boom’, that when it enters a tunnel even at a high speed, it has less aerodynamic sound.

The test run speed of the train is 400 km per hour. But for the comfort of passengers and environmental comfort, the speed is fixed to 320 km per hour. Beforehand, the research team initiated to design a high speed train which could travel with a speed of 360 km per hour, developing new sets of train basing from the former experimental high speed trains, Fastech 360.

Shinkansen bullet trains are designed to be more comfortable and faster than ever before. It comes with a premium first class seating area. Unlike ordinary services, Shinkansen trains stop at fewer station. But on top of that, they travel faster and offer more comprehensive seats capable of meeting all customer needs during the longer trips, from eating and reading to sleeping and working. These seats eliminate discomfort even from irregular posture, consisted of urethane layer, plastic springs and metal springs.

Shinkansen features equipped materials for more enjoyable trip. The train is equipped with reclining lever that is helpful when returning to the upright position. It has sliding table too attached to the backrest of the seat in front so passengers can slide the table closer. Leg warmer was designed allowing passengers to warm their legs whenever they feel cold. Built into the seats are High-luminance LED reading lights that offers illumination throughout the whole trip. For support, handgrips were installed to walk into the aisle easier. The train has three separate seating classes, namely GranClass, green class and ordinary class. It is configured with ten cars and has a capacity to carry 731 passengers, of which 658 seats are of ordinary class, 55 seats are of Green Class and 18 seats are in GranClass.

The names of the main bullet trains are Tokaido Shinkansen, Sanyo Shinkansen, Tohoku Shinkansen, Joetsu Shinkansen, Nagano Shinkansen and Kyushu Shinkansen.
